Hon'ble Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs & Culture Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal  attended the Vibrant Gujarat and Dandiya event in México

      On 30 September 2022, the Indian delegation headed by the Hon’ble Minister of State (MoS) for Parliamentary Affairs & Culture, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal attended the Vibrant Gujarat and Dandiya event, organized by the Indian Association of Mexico. Hon’ble MoS was on an official visit to Mexico from 28 September – 2 October, 2022, to represent India at the UNESCO World Conference on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development- MONDIACULT 2022.

  1. 2.The celebrations began by performing aarti of Goddess Ambaji by the Hon’ble MoS and Ambassador Pankaj Sharma. Later, the MoS addressed the Indian diaspora and expressed gratitude for the warm and affectionate welcome. He congratulated the Indian Association of Mexico, for playing a key role in binding the diaspora to the Indian culture, values, and our heritage, despite being thousands of miles away from home. During the Navratri celebrations, he spoke about the importance of preserving and celebrating the Indian culture and festivals and mentioned about the significance of the Navratri festival. He also briefed about the developments and the current transformations that India is witnessing under the current leadership of our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, and that, the Indian diaspora is a major contributor of this New India.

  2. 3.As part of the government policy of state promotion, Ambassador Pankaj Sharma spoke about the strengths and potential of our states of India, while highlighting the opportunities of state of Gujarat through the ‘Vibrant Gujarat’ event. He also mentioned that the Vibrant Gujarat event, is one of many efforts by our Missions abroad to spread information about the great potential that exists not only in Gujarat, but also among different states of India. The President of the Indian Association of Mexico, Mr. Jyoti Ranjan Rout, also delivered a brief discourse on the economic opportunities and the trade and investment potential in the state of Gujarat.
  1. 4.The event also saw participation from renowned tour operators in Mexico such as- Lic. Juan Carlos Arnau, Vice President of International affairs of FEMATUR, Ms. Carmen from Gujarat Travel Life and Mr. Ian Franco, President of Experts in Tourism; briefing about the tourism potential of the state of Gujarat. A photo exhibition was organized by the Gurudev Tagore Indian Cultural Center, showcasing the vibrant culture and trade and tourism prospective of Gujarat. Later the Indian diaspora celebrated the Navratri and Dandiya festival by performing the traditional Garbha dance and Dandiya performances.
